ONLINE AUCTION | MAY 9 - 15, 2023

 We are in complete awe of what we accomplished together at Friday night’s WMS Auction and Gala celebrating our 40^th anniversary. It was an inspiring display of community, connection, and commitment to our mission, and we are grateful to everyone who participated: as a sponsor, volunteer, attendee, or donor.

In-person event attendees got to preview the special photo project we created in honor of our 40^th anniversary. Parent and student volunteers have taken stunning black and white photos of every student over the course of their days in this school that has come to mean so much to all of us. These priceless photos capture the essence of our WMS students, and we want to give all families the option to pay what you wish and own an 8x8 foam back print along with the digital image. Click here to preview the examples and make a purchase – sales for this portion will stay open until Friday, May 19. All photos and digital prints will be delivered to the school with a pickup date in the following week. There are still a few remaining items left in the auction, including many classroom fund-a-wish items, if you’d like a chance to support. You now have until Monday at noon to get your final bids in!

RAISE THE PADDLE

Each year, WMS chooses a priority need or opportunity that cannot be readily met through the regular operating budget. All the support from previous families before us have helped to create the incredible opportunities that make our community and school what it is today.  Examples of past paddle raises include the creation of the Innovation and Design Lab, support for outdoor education, playground structures at both campuses, tuition assistance, professional development for faculty and staff, and more.

Last year, our community came together to raise the paddle for building improvements, ensuring that WMS is on a continued path for growth at all levels. Over $100,000 was raised allowing the school to relocate several classrooms to provide more community connection among respective levels, dedicate a community room for school gatherings to return, and prepare our Bothell campus for infrastructure upgrades in 2023.

As a strategic priority to continue to improve and enhance our facilities in phases over the next few years, we are now making plans to:  

• Occupy Building 3 of our Bothell Campus and expand our High School program which will include an upgraded science lab and an indoor PE and recess area accessible to most levels.
• In Building 2, we will be adding a teaching kitchen for cooking classes, reconfiguring spaces to create dedicated music and drama classrooms and enhancing the art classroom and Innovation & Design Lab.  
• We will also create more space and functionality in Upper Elementary and Middle School classrooms with additional bathrooms, moveable walls, and more.

These are some of the exciting improvements we aim to complete at the earliest by the fall of 2024, and we invite our community to raise your paddle high once again for Building Excellence! Giving levels range from $50 to $5,000+ and we hope our whole community considers contributions of philanthropic support to offset rising project costs.
