Our Annual Gala and Auction is an important event for the WMS community, and your support makes an immediate impact. When you bid high enough to win an item through this auction, not only do you get the item, but you're also helping WMS continue to create a strong and supportive learning community that benefits all students and families.

RAISE YOUR PADDLE FOR BUILDING EXCELLENCE

This year, we invite you to Raise-the-Paddle high for building campus excellence! WMS is taking necessary steps modernize our campuses to prepare us for continued growth, enhance safety and security, and make infrastructure upgrades, serving as a critical step in our long-term plan for the future of WMS. We plan to:

• Reconfigure a classroom into a dedicated community, music, and movement space for all levels, and use as a multipurpose space to allow for gatherings again.
• Relocate a classroom at North Creek to allow all Early Childhood classrooms easier access to their respective playground and provide more community connection among North Creek Early Childhood classrooms.
• Upper Elementary level spaces will be built out to make larger classrooms by removing interior walls in their current space and allow all classrooms to be on one level, providing whole community connection.
• Create a new classroom space in the Ginkgo middle school.
• Prepare for infrastructure upgrades in summer 2023, which will be critical in our ability to establish solid music and PE programs and consider future expansion.

These are some of the many improvements we have determined that will provide the best possible student experience and WMS anticipates raising philanthropic support from the community to offset the project costs.

KIDS NIGHT OUT

WMS is excited to offer a Kids Night Out event for students whose adults will be attending the in-person event! 

Kids Night Out is planned and run by Secondary School students with proceeds going towards future Secondary school trips. The child care event will be held at WMS North Creek Campus Building only for WMS students who are either five years old, are in Lower Elementary, or are in Upper Elementary. Groups will be divided into separate spaces by level. Five-year-old students will be in the Lower Elementary group. Middle and High School students, with staff supervision, will plan engaging activities, age-appropriate movie time and more. Pizza dinner will be provided.

Space is limited, and if you are interested in registering for this child care opportunity, you will receive a separate link to register after you have completed your Gala ticket registration. KNO runs from 6:00 - 9:30 pm and cost is $25 for 1st child, $20 for 2nd child and $15 for 3 or more siblings, not including pizza costs ($3.50 per slice). COVID REMINDERS

As the in-person event will be taking place indoors, we want to continue to ensure a healthy and fun evening for our community. With this in mind, we want to provide you with event COVID-19 protocols following recent state and King County guidelines:

• We highly encourage all attendees to be fully vaccinated (initial doses).
• We highly encourage all attendees to take a rapid test within 24 hours of the event and to stay home if any symptoms arise.
• We encourage attendees to make the choice that is best for them and their families regarding masking.
